During the annual “I Heart MSt Volunteer Celebration,” the Main Street Program recognized the Lenoir Fire Department as the 2017 Main Street Champions and thanked Main Street volunteers for their hard work last year.

Main Street staff hosted a banquet for the department Monday night, Feb. 26, 2018, at 1841 Café in Downtown Lenoir. City of Lenoir Mayor Joe Gibbons thanked the City’s firefighters for their hard work and commitment to helping the City of Lenoir Team in any way they can.

Mike and Diane Kilby of Smoking in the Foothills presented the Wig Bank with a $4,500 check from the 2017 Smoking in the Foothills BBQ Festival proceeds; Kilby also presented a plaque to JBS for their sponsorship and assistance with the event; and Kilby presented a $1,500 check to the City of Lenoir Main Street Program.

This annual celebration was created to acknowledge and applaud the now 100-strong volunteer group that gives countless hours to making Downtown Lenoir initiatives possible.

“We can do great things simply because we have such great people working together!” said Kaylynn Horn, Director of the Lenoir Main Street Program.
