If you want to have some fun this summer, you can have it right here in Lenoir. Whether it’s concerts, movies, footraces, or fireworks, there’s something for everyone!

Head downtown tomorrow, Friday, June 29, 2018, and check out Chad Triplett and Two Lane Blacktop on the downtown stage! This is the fifth concert of the City’s FREE Summer Music Madness series, and there are more to come.

The Firecracker 10K/5K/Fun Run is Saturday, June 30. The Firecracker is the second of three footraces that comprise the City of Lenoir Triple Crown. Held annually in the summer, the Firecracker starts and finishes at the Lenoir Rotary Soccer Complex.

The Independence Day Celebration at Mulberry Recreation Center is sure to be a blast. The celebration is July 4, from 5:00 to 10:00 pm and there will be water slides, games, live music, trackless train rides, a petting zoo, fireworks, and more!

The third installment of the City’s Fabulous Film Series – Star Wars The Last Jedi – hits the downtown screen Saturday, July 7.  Concessions are available as well as good eats from local restaurants. Bring your own chairs and blankets, and settle in for some great FREE movies!

The following week, downtown Lenoir will be filled with blackberries during the North Carolina Blackberry Festival. The festival will be July 12-14. There’s blackberry cobbler, blackberry jam, blackberry beer, a blackberry pageant, music, food, a blackberry parade, a singer-songwriter contest, and more! If you love blackberries, you’ll love the North Carolina Blackberry Festival!
