Public Works Director Jared Wright gave an update Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2019, on a new section of greenway his department is currently paving in the city.
The new section is known as the Rail Trail. The Rail Trail is the old railroad that runs through town from Morganton Boulevard north to Sealed Air located on NC 90.
This year, the City Public Works Department will pave a section of the Rail Trail from North Main Street south to Morganton Boulevard.
Wright said he hopes to have the trail ready for public use by the end of the year.
