Nearly 50 City of Lenoir employees took to the streets Monday, April 16, 2018, to kick off the NCDOT Spring Litter Sweep and the City’s #LitterFreeLenoirNC Contest.

Employees from the Administration, Finance, Fire, Main Street, Parks and Recreation, Planning, Police, Public Utilities and Public Works departments tackled several streets in the city including Main Street, Old North Road, Hospital Avenue, US 321, Wilson Street, Creekway Drive, Finley Avenue, Virginia Street, Fairview Drive, Mulberry Street, and Norwood Street.

The City teams picked up 125 bags of litter, one tire, and one toilet!

Over the weekend, volunteers from Waterlife Church picked up litter on Greenhaven Drive and collected approximately 20 bags!

If every resident and business participates and picks up litter in their front yard or in front of their store, we can keep Lenoir, NC litter-free!
