Cookies & Cream is a subsidiary of Sweet & Nutty, Inc. The family started out in the nut and candy business in 1978, starting out as Peanut Shack. They are located just to the left of the Downtown Stage and offer Hershey’s ice cream, cookies, and shaved ice. They are open 7 days a week.

CLOSER THAN YOU THINK!

When business is booming that front door parking space may not always be available, but that shop or restaurant still might be closer than you think!

Most of us are familiar with jumping out of the car and running into Wal-Mart for a gallon of milk and it just feels so convenient. So, we did some measuring and found that the distances to park, walk, and then find what you need in the store are comparable to our Downtown business district.

Check out the map below for a side by side comparison. The Wal-Mart perimeter is larger than our entire National Register Historic District!

Downtown Lenoir offers over 900 parking spaces within walking distance to the main square with a number of handicap accessible spaces in each lot. For this experiment, we measured from each of the municipal parking lots to the historic clock in front of City Hall.

For comparison, the distance from the back of the Wal-Mart parking lot to the back of the store is about 1000ft. If you were able to get a spot in the very front of the lot, you would walk around 400ft to get to the back of the store. Once inside the store, if you had to get both milk and dog food you would end up walking nearly 500ft.
