 Downtown Lenoir is kicking off the holidays tomorrow with Light Up Lenoir, and the Downtown Lenoir Christmas Tree Festival is this weekend.

Light Up Lenoir

Light Up Lenoir is an annual holiday event where local students and other groups decorate dozens of Christmas trees in Downtown Lenoir. This year’s event is Thursday, Nov. 21, from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in Downtown Lenoir.

Local businesses sponsored more than 40 Christmas trees this year. The trees are placed along Main Street and West Avenue in downtown. Students from local schools, churches, and civic groups will come decorate the trees tomorrow. At 6:00 p.m., downtown staff will turn on the lights on all the Christmas trees and start the annual Christmas Light Show on the Downtown Stage.

Attendees can visit with Santa from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and enjoy free hot chocolate and cookies while supplies last. Several schools will perform live music.

  • Santa – 4:00 to 6:00 pm
  • Student Christmas Performances – 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm
  • Christmas Light Show – 6:00 to 10:00 pm (The Christmas Light Show continues nightly through Jan. 1.)

Downtown Lenoir Christmas Tree Festival

Sponsored by the Caldwell Rotary Club, the Downtown Lenoir Christmas Tree Festival is a family-oriented holiday festival that offers craft and food vendors, live entertainment, visits with Santa, and a Kids Zone. Residents can start their Christmas shopping early and bring their kids for some holiday fun.

This year’s festival is Saturday, Nov. 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Downtown Lenoir.

The festival also serves as a fundraising event for the Caldwell Rotary Club. The Club puts any profits from the festival into its college scholarships fund.The Caldwell Rotary Club gives partial scholarships every year to three Caldwell County high school seniors.
